The Hungarian Favourite Chocolate Snack

The Túró Rudi is the much talked about snack. Here we eat it almost everyday, or better to say, at least once a week. Túró Rudi is beginning to be something I'm growing to like. These are the ads which I've never seen on the hungarian TV, but showing it, I hope it gives you an idea of how the packaging looks like.

Some new friends (I don't know them directly but he is actually my old friend Christopher's wife cousin) came to Hungary and visited Budapest. They were delighted to try it first time after my recommendation and they too bought some home for the Singaporeans colleagues and friends as something local from Hungary.

Well, besides Túró Rudi, I also like to give little gifts of Paprika as present that represents Hungary. It's a local product and it's very interesting how spicy some of them can get in soups or stews.

My recent addition to cooking is tejfol, I learn from my colleagues during lunch conversations of how to make something hungarian. And I learned to cook the chicken stew. In English, tejfol is better known as 'sour cream'. These hungarian ones are very very delicious ;) !

Most of the hungarian dishes are topped with tejfol. So for those of you who are lactose-intolerant, you are surely missing a lot when you are here trying out the Hungarian yummy cuisine :))

Kürtös kalács and Forralt bor

It will be a nice week of Winter Break finally! Wow, I can't believe I am able to manage the first four months here in such stressful levels. It's hard to put into words how disorganized the workplace has been. Lots of poor communicators from the top director to the bottom administrative staff :(

We went to the Christmas market as what we did last year :) It's at the Vorosmarty square :)

It's becoming like a ''tradition'' when we visit it during christmas, to have a Sült Kolbász(kolbász = sausage) and hot wine called Mulled Wine :) followed by some traditional sweets called Kürtös kalács=which you can see in the photo on the right :)
